My life with an autistic child

So, today is my birthday. I know my husband told him to say it but there’s nothing like waking up to your child telling you happy birthday 🥳

He fell asleep on my lap last night. I do love the cuddles but he doesn’t always want them, so when he does want the cuddles I let my arm fall asleep and go numb because I don’t want to move him.

Dealing with him on a daily basis is challenging but also rewarding. He surprises me all the time with how smart he is. He just has an issue focusing, but I am figuring that out too. My advice to anyone with an autistic child or just any child with challenging traits should join a support group because not only is helpful to ask advice from people who are dealing with the same issues as you but it’s also rewarding to be able to give advice yourself. I completely recommend. 🥰
